Murder, scandal, political espionage, and an extremely dangerous woman. Lucas Davenport’s going to be lucky to get out of this one alive.... Very early one morning, a Minnesota political fixer answers his doorbell. The next thing he knows, he’s waking up on the floor of a moving car, lying on a plastic sheet, his body wet with blood. When the car stops, a voice says, "Hey, I think he’s breathing." And another voice says, "Yeah? Give me the bat." And that’s the last thing he knows. Davenport is investigating another case when the trail leads to the man’s disappearance, then - very troublingly - to the Minneapolis police department, then - most troublingly of all - to a woman who could give Machiavelli lessons. She has very definite ideas about the way the world should work, and the money, ruthlessness, and sheer will to make it happen. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Richard Ferrone. You're walking across the parking lot in a hurry to get to your car. You see a shiny coin on the ground. Do you stop to pick it up or leave it? If you're superstitious, most likely the little voice inside of you will insist you pick it up. If you are in a hurry, but you know every penny counts, you will probably stop to pick it up. If you think it makes no difference whether you do or you don't, or you think you don't have time to pick it up, or you think, "It's just a coin..." and pass it by. Think again. If you're leaving money on the floor or not taking notice of your own money, chances are your relationship with money is strained. Do you have money, but never have enough? Do you constantly find yourself wondering where your next dollar is going to come from? Do you want to be able to tap into an abundant world where you never have to worry about money again? Money Blues to Blue Money is not your typical self-help, how-to, step-by-step workbook listening. This is a story that revolves around the author's own personal experience from struggling financially to financial independence and how she discovered the equation of money. She shares her lessons, her "ah ha" moments, her revelations, and most importantly her practices for tuning into an everlasting connection with money. Dr. Ming Chee has coached countless people in creating their own abundance. She has participated in webinars, group chats, public presentations, and retreats. She is continuously connected to the energy of money and she loves teaching people how to obtain the same connection and attain a wealth mindset. Dr. Ming Chee changed her relationship with money and believes everyone has the power within themselves to do the same. This book will discuss how to remove money blocks, unkink your money vibe, and save yourself from the money gremlins who are constantly keeping you away from money. 1. Language: English. Narrator: C. Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov, a former student, lives in a tiny garret on the top floor of a run-down apartment building in St. Petersburg. He is sickly, dressed in rags, short on money, and talks to himself, but he is also handsome, proud, and intelligent. He is contemplating committing an awful crime, but the nature of the crime is not yet clear. He goes to the apartment of an old pawnbroker, Alyona Ivanovna, to get money for a watch and to plan the crime. Afterward, he stops for a drink at a tavern, where he meets a man named Marmeladov, who, in a fit of drunkenness, has abandoned his job and proceeded on a five-day drinking binge, afraid to return home to his family. Marmeladov tells Raskolnikov about his sickly wife, Katerina Ivanovna, and his daughter, Sonya, who has been forced into prostitution to support the family. Raskolnikov walks with Marmeladov to Marmeladov's apartment, where he meets Katerina and sees firsthand the squalid conditions in which they live. The next day, Raskolnikov receives a letter from his mother informing him that his sister, Dunya, is engaged to a government official named Luzhin and that they are all moving to St. Petersburg. He goes to another tavern, where he overhears a student talking about how society would be better off if the old pawnbroker Alyona Ivanovna were dead. Later, in the streets, Raskolnikov hears that the pawnbroker will be alone in her apartment the next evening. He sleeps fitfully and wakes up the next day, finds an ax, and fashions a fake item to pawn to distract the pawnbroker. That night, he goes to her apartment and kills her. While he is rummaging through her bedroom, looking for money, her sister walks in, and Raskolnikov kills her as well. He barely escapes from the apartment without being seen, then returns to his apartment and collapses on the sofa. Thus begins Crime and Punishment with all the twists and turns and philosophical questions that permeate Dostoyevsky's writing. A world classic! 1. Russian. An elderly lady once left $20,000 and "my Bible and all it contains" to her nephew. The young man knew what the Bible contained, so he didn’t bother to open it. He merely picked it up and put it on a high shelf in his house, and headed for Las Vegas. It wasn’t long until all his money was gone. He lived the next 60 years as a pauper, scraping for every meal and barely having the clothes on his back. As he was moving to a convalescent home he reached up to grab that old Bible and accidentally dropped it from his trembling hands. It fell to the floor and opened, revealing a $100 bill between every page. That man lived his life as a pauper when he could have lived in luxury, simply because of his prejudice. He thought he knew what the Bible contained. Most people don’t know that the Bible contains a wealth of incredible scientific, medical and prophetic facts. The implications are mind boggling. 1. The year 2060 is drawing to a close, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It's a time for loved ones to come together. But sometimes the deepest hatreds seethe within the closest relationships, and blood flows faster than water.... For Lieutenant Eve Dallas of the NYPSD, the job is a useful reminder of what she has to be grateful for this season. Hosting Roarke's big Irish family for the holiday may be challenging, but it's a joyful improvement on her own dark childhood. Other couples aren't as lucky as Eve and Roarke. Turns out Jerry is not only capable of brutality but taking a liking to it. With the money he's stolen from his parents, and a long list of grievances, he intends to finally make his mark on the world. Eve and her team already know the who, how, and why of this murder. What they need to pinpoint is where Jerry's going to strike next. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Susan Ericksen. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/brll/005297/bk_brll_005297_sample.mp3. Tina went to grab for Sara, but fell to the ground. Her towel came off and she was on her knees reaching for Sara naked. “Please Sara, don’t tell anyone!” She begged. Sara stopped and looked down at Tina who had a pleading look on her face. “Please, I can’t get expelled, I just can’t.” She paused and continued, “You can stay here, and I won’t kick you out.” Sara looked at Tina and saw her sexy naked body. She got turned on and felt herself getting excited. “Also…” “Anything.” Tina interrupted, “I will do anything.” She pleaded. Remembering what her father had told her. She had to graduate Yale before she could have access to her father’s millions. If she got expelled, she would never see one dime of that money. She was desperate. “I will do anything.” She said in a meek voice. “Anything.” “From now on, you will do everything I tell you to do for my entertainment and amusement. Do you understand?” She asked Tina. “Yes. I will do everything you say.” Tina agreed. “That is including being my sex slave.” Sara added. “Sex slave?” Tina inquired. “You don’t think I see you parading around here in your little skimpy panties? Haven’t you ever wondered why I don’t bring guys around?” She asked. “I thought it was because you were afraid I was going to steal them away from you.” Tina replied. “No, that is not why. It’s because I am a lesbian. I love women. Sexy, beautiful and hot women like you.” Sara smiled and kneeled down on the floor next to Tina and began caressing her skin. “With soft skin…” 1.
