Just when Emmy can see a future for herself of endless sunshine, true love and laughter, are her dreams about to be ripped at the seams? Oliver Twist - The Original Classic Edition
13,99 € *

Set in Victorian London, this is a tale of a spirited young innocents unwilling but inevitable recruitment into a scabrous gang of thieves. Masterminded by the loathsome Fagin, the underworld crew features some of Dickens most memorable characters, including the vicious Bill Sikes, gentle Nancy, and the juvenile pickpocket known as the Artful Dodger. This is a high quality book of the original classic edition. This is a freshly published edition of this culturally important work, which is now, at last, again available to you. Enjoy this classic work. These few paragraphs distill the contents and give you a quick look inside: Among other public buildings in a certain town, which for many reasons it will be prudent to refrain from mentioning, and to which I will assign no fictitious name, there is one anciently common to most towns, great or small: to wit, a workhouse; and in this workhouse was born; on a day and date which I need not trouble myself to repeat, inasmuch as it can be of no possible consequence to the reader, in this stage of the business at all events; the item of mortality whose name is prefixed to the head of this chapter. For a long time after it was ushered into this world of sorrow and trouble, by the parish surgeon, it remained a matter of considerable doubt whether the child would survive to bear any name at all; in which case it is somewhat more than probable that these memoirs would never have appeared; or, if they had, that being comprised within a couple of pages, they would have possessed the inestimable merit of being the most concise and faithful specimen of biography, extant in the literature of any age or country. Upon this, the parish authorities magnanimously and humanely resolved, that Oliver should be farmed, or, in other words, that he should be dispatched to a branch-workhouse some three miles off, where twenty or thirty other juvenile offenders against the poor-laws, rolled about the floor all day, without the inconvenience of too much food or too much clothing, under the parental superintendence of an elderly female, who received the culprits at and for the consideration of sevenpence-halfpenny per small head per week. Unfortunately for, the experimental philosophy of the female to whose protecting care Oliver Twist was delivered over, a similar result usually attended the operation of her system; for at the very moment when the child had contrived to exist upon the smallest possible portion of the weakest possible food, it did perversely happen in eight and a half cases out of ten, either that it sickened from want and cold, or fell into the fire from neglect, or got half-smothered by accident; in any one of which cases, the miserable little being was usually summoned into another world, and there gathered to the fathers it had never known in this. Oliver Twist and his companions suffered the tortures of slow starvation for three months: at last they got so voracious and wild with hunger, that one boy, who was tall for his age, and hadnt been used to that sort of thing (for his father had kept a small cook-shop), hinted darkly to his companions, that unless he had another basin of gruel per diem, he was afraid he might some night happen to eat the boy who slept next him, who happened to be a weakly youth of tender age.

Mild and meek teacher David had a very big secret. He was a secret gambler and in massive debt to the biggest shark in town. When Clifton came calling, the only collateral he had left was his pretty wife and daughter. Extract: "We're gonna make sure you look your best. Undress!" Heather just stared back. "In front of you! You must be joking!" The next moment she was picking herself up off the floor with her ears ringing, and she realized Serena had slapped her hard across the face. "I will only tell you to do things once, you silly little slut," the other woman barked. "Let's see if you're a quick learner. Now strip!" Heather considered her options for no more than five more seconds before her shaky hands came up to slowly unbutton her summer dress, her pretty face burning with embarrassment. 1. Language: English. Scout Lieutenant Shaydra den'Kurona was trying to escape the stifling responsibilities of her homeworld. But a quick stop on an out-of-the way planet brought her face-to-face with her own desires.Mark Paxton was stuck in a dead-end job in a small town. But one night a starship landed next to him. Now a sexy alien is living with him. One magic night he will find out that space girls are easy!~~~~~ Excerpt ~~~~~They didn’t quite fall into each others’ arms when the door to his bedroom closed behind them. It was more like a mutual tackle; fierce and almost violent. Shayla climbed him like a tree, her arms wrapping around his neck, and she kissed him, kissed him hard, her tongue forcing itself between his lips and searching his out. When they met, it was as if a jolt of electricity coursed through their paired bodies. He groaned, opening his mouth wide, his hands clutching the curves of her rear.“The bed,” he panted. “On the bed. If we keep this up, we’ll fall down, and I’ll be damned if I make love to you on a hardwood floor.”He staggered over to the bed and fell backwards onto it, cushioning her fall with his body. For a second she simply lay on his chest, enjoying the feel of his strong body under hers. But after a moment she slithered higher, then sat up on her heels. Catching his eye, she raised her hands to the shirt-cord, tied in a low knot just above her breasts. Moving slowly, she undid the knot, then pulled the cord out of the lace-holes, one at a time, until her shirt was hanging open, barely hiding her chest. As she teased him, he put his hands on her hips, his thumbs stroking the flat planes of her stomach. When the garment was finally undone, she slipped it off, eyes shining with pride as she watched his face change. His hand curved up her back, then settled bare inches away from her breast. She swallowed at the heat of his touch. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Aiden Black. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/127812/bk_acx0_127812_sample.mp3. Digital audiobook in aax.
