Warum? Weil sie es können! Auch wenn diese Worte eigentlich fast jeder für sein neues Album bemüht, kommt man nicht umhin, zu sagen: ?Adrenalin? ist das stärkste Ding, das die Berliner bisher ausgebrütet haben!OST+FRONT are back ? and full on adrenalin! The new album from the Berlin-based bands is released as CD, deluxe double CD, limited double vinyl and limited fan box containing the double CD, a bonus live-album and OST+FRONT-flag.Born at the limit and open for everything... - on Adrenalin, OST+FRONT are pushing the boundaries more than ever before. Mixed and mastered in the renowned Fascination Street Studios in Sweden (Amon Amarth, At The Gates, Arch Enemy, Kreator? to name but a few), the album is sporting a compact sound that perfectly balances the alternating bursts of melodic pomp and relentless aggression, fun and brutality and the juxtaposition of fragility and in your face-moments. Yet again, OST+FRONT delight in tearing down all sorts of lyrical and musical conventions and enjoy wallowing in all sorts of thinkable and unthinkable extremes that the human existence has to offer: be it adrenalin rushes, delusions of grandeur, orgies of promiscuity on the dance floor, or the heavily underrated pleasures of geronto-eroticism ? the Berliners tackle all these themes with shameless aggression in raw anthemic hit tunes. The steamhammer-Metal-foundation coupled with strong melodies which is at the heart of every OST+FRONT song is expanded with all sorts of genre-defying extras that follow only one motto: anything goes! Beer-tent-polka meets Techno meets Metal, German New Wave is melded into Neue Deutsche Härte, symphonic choirs and orchestral finesse meet Punk Rock or Old School Heavy Metal sounds but all of these diversities really only serve as a clever buildup for the next aggressive broadside. In 10 Jahre OST+FRONT (= 10 years of OST+FRONT), Herrmann and his Conquerors unashamedly revel in self-praise and the love for their fans. And why? Because they can! And even though practically every band will call their latest release the crown of everything they have created thus far, in this case there is not much more to say: Adrenalin really is the strongest behemoth of an album that OST+FRONT have ever created.Bei uns gibt es eine große Bühne mit einem markanten Zeltdach, die in Ihren Ausmaßen heutzutage nur noch selten zu finden ist. The zombie apocalypse continues.... I did the first thing that came to my mind, and that was to kick the shell in the head as hard as I could. Although there was an audible snap, the head moved very little. The putrid, undead thing continued trying to grab hold of me, but I managed to evade its hands and keep kicking. At the same moment, I heard a squish sound and saw blood start pouring from the head onto the yellowish tile floor. Lawrence was standing next to me. He had his gun out and pointed at the stairs. The sound of shells slowly grew louder. And just like that, the wave of bodies began pouring down the stairs. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Todd Menesses. Sirens were blaring. They hurt his ears, but he pushed on. The floor in the corridor was shiny and black, reflecting the white light from the pods stacked next to the walls on either side. He glanced from left to right as he ran, searching the screens next to the pods frantically. The markings flashing on them were in the language of his captors, but he'd spent enough time among them to know what they meant. He'd learned early on that if your masters think you're an idiot, they let the reins slip. He was anything but an idiot. After a while, they speak openly in front of you, like you're nothing but a piece of furniture. One slip leads to another, and pretty soon you know everything about their deviant empire. He didn't have a name, had never been given one. Mostly he was referred to as "you" or "slave", sometimes no coherent word at all but just a grunting sound. His masters were fat and lazy. Well, now their laziness had come to bite them on their fat asses. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Dorinda Ravish. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/080510/bk_acx0_080510_sample.mp3. From dreams filled with strange, beautiful images and haunting music, Claire Challis woke to the repulsive sound of a nasal, falsetto voice scratching its way through her closed bedroom window - the kind of voice adults reserve for speaking to pets or very small children. A particularly annoying case of the latter, she decided, for the voice was crooning, "My, don't we look fine in our Sunday best! Are you going to church, young man?" From her second-floor apartment, she could hear only an indistinct, mumbled response, but she thought it came from little Paul Hernandez, who lived next door. A momentary silence ensued, and then she heard, "Are you going with your parents?" Claire couldn't help but shudder at the dry, coarse quality of the voice. The speaker sounded like an elderly man, but the intentional distortion of his speech impressed her as vaguely sinister. Little Paul must have answered in the affirmative, for the speaker continued, "You look so cute. How would you like to go with me to myyy church?" From the author, Mark Rainey: "Balak, like much of my fiction, is a part of a multilayered, interconnected universe that draws heavily from the Cthulhu Mythos of H. P. Lovecraft while using the most modern of settings and characters. Many of the settings for Balak are very real places in Chicago, which I attempted to capture and cast in a somewhat different light than they - at least probably - appear in real life." 1. Today's show starts with a look into the exotic world of underwater sex - between octopuses. The octopus is a solitary creature until it's time to mate. A Scientific American blog article reveals what really happens when the creatures need to get down. In a Seattle aquarium, a pair was joined together in a very public fashion with onlookers observing 16 arms and 4,000 suckers as the couple entwined. After four-plus hours, the octopuses were released back into Puget Sound to lay eggs in the wild, and then, sadly, each animal - as is the standard octopus destiny - died soon after mating. What a love story! Next, Susie profiles author Hanne Blank's new audiobooks: Virgin: The Untouched History, Straight: The Surprisingly Short History of Heterosexuality, and Big, Big Love: A Sex and Relationships Guide for People of Size (and Those Who Love Them). Susie talks about Blank's unique approach to writing how-to sex books. And we'll hear an audio sample with narrator Johanna Taylor from Big, Big Love that deals with the myths associated with people of size. Hint: size doesn't stop many people from having great sex! Then, it's the "Try This at Home" mailbag. A female listener writes in about a problem with her babysitter: "After a night out with my husband, when returning home, we found our babysitter in the middle of the act, rolling on the floor in the kitchen with a teenage boy. I'm not a prude, but yikes!" Have a question? You can call Susie's hotline at 831-480-5110. The sound of the basketball slapping the floor echoed hollowly in the gym, as I began working it playfully with my hands. Planning my next move, I locked eyes with my opponent. I noticed small beads of sweat beginning to form in the furrow between his eyebrows. My heart was pounding, and my nerves tightened in response... but slowly a smile formed on my lips. Here I was, 5'8" Jesse LeBeau, going one on one with basketball superstar Kevin Durant... and I was making him sweat! As I started to make my move on him, I briefly wondered, "How did a skinny kid from a small town in Alaska ever get the chance to do this?" Here I was, involved in the filming of the 2012 Warner Brother's basketball movie Thunderstruck, playing against the NBA scoring champion! It shouldn't have happened. I didn't fit the profile and anyone would have told you that. But I did make it, despite the odds. And here is my story... Growing up as an undersized white basketball player on a remote island in Alaska, Jesse had nearly every chip stacked against him. Yet despite his size and circumstances, he managed to rise above it all and make it to the big screen in Hollywood. With only the love of the game of basketball and the tenacity to follow a dream driving him, Jesse's persistence has led him to star in national commercials and movies with some of the most recognizable celebrities and professional athletes in the world. More importantly, he found a way to tweak the system and alter his dream and get paid to do what he loves to... every day! Be inspired by his story and learn the keys to successfully creating a life that is uniquely yours. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Donny Baarns. “A band ought to have a sound all of its own. It ought to have a personality.” (Glenn Miller)Sprightly swing music spills across the dimly lit club. The grayish curtains of cigarette smoke part every once in a while to reveal a sparkling stage and tables upon tables of patrons, some incurably inebriated and others high on the fast-paced nightlife. Fabulous flappers in shimmery cocktail dresses and stylish feather headbands throw their hands up and stomp their feet to the addictive beat on the dance floor. Smartly dressed men, their hair neatly parted and slicked back, toss fistfuls of dice onto the plush green baize of the craps tables. Some hover over roulette wheels, staring intently at the spinning flashes of silver, while others finger their playing cards as they sip on tumblers of whiskey, eyeing both the river and the tower of tokens next to them. Frisky tunes, chic fashion, and American gambling are nostalgic, rose-tinted images most choose to project when visualizing the Roaring Twenties, but the other side of the coin brought an uninviting, much harsher reality that most would prefer to sweep under the rug. The first real estate bubble was on the brink of bursting, and progress was evident, but painfully slow, which gave way to yet another era of violent riots, lynchings, and other forms of oppression imposed on minorities. The Swing Era was a magical period in American history between the hedonism of the Roaring Twenties and the rebelliousness sparked by rock music beginning in the 1950s. Swing music was rooted in ragtime, blues, and jazz music that had long been popular in African American enclaves in Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, and New Orleans, and while musicians like Benny Goodman popularized swing music, big bands produced America’s most popular music. Though it may be hard to fathom in the wake of Elvis Presley and popular rock bands like the Beatles, the early 20th century featured a burgeoning music sales industr 1. Language: English.
